Karipur runway scam: Two accused to be made approvers


Kochi: Two of the accused in a scam related to the widening of the runway at the Karipur international airport are likely to be made approvers in the case by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
The CBI team submitted an application before the Ernakulam Chief Judicial Magistrate Court seeking permission to make the eighth accused Raman Sharma, former senior engineer and tenth accused M P Satheesh approvers in the case.
The case relates to an alleged conspiracy by the Airport officials, which led to heavy losses for the government.
The CBI had arrested B R Arora and M P Madhu Nair, directors in Arora Associates, New Delhi, which had won the contract for the runway construction project.
