Kingfisher can retrieve its planes only after paying parking sum: DGCA

Delhi: Lending yet another blow to the disgruntled Vijay Mallya, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, on Tuesday mentioned that 17 planes of Kingfisher Airlines have been de-registered on request of the leasing companies which own the jets.
"The lessors have to pay parking charges from the day of de-registration of the aircraft," Arun Mishra, Director general of civil aviation, told reporters.
This move is a big relief to the leasing companies including ILFC and Germany's DVB Bank who have been waiting to take back their planes from Kingfisher Airlines due to the carrier's inability to pay rentals.
