Ludhiana: Low-cost airlines SpiceJet is set to boost the air connectivity between Ludhiana and the national capital with a daily flight starting from May this year.
The move is set to bring a much-needed relief to over 10,000 globe-trotting industrialists who scramble to find tickets on trains to New Delhi.
The development was confirmed by the Sahnewal Airport manager VP Jain in Ludhiana.
So far, just Air India operates a daily flight to New Delhi from Sahnewal.
"We have held several discussions with SpiceJet in the last few weeks. The private carrier told us that they will start operations this summer with one of their new planes," said Jain.
