Two air fliers have been arrested for allegedly smuggling 115 kg narcotic drug tablets from the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) in New Delhi.
The passengers, identified as Anthuama (49) and Sawithanga (53), were intercepted yesterday evening by a CISF check squad when they arrived at the airport to board a flight to Guwahati.
"On enquiry, the passengers told they were in furniture business and hail from Lunglei district of Mizoram. During investigation, it came to light that they were carriers and would have got Rs one lakh on delivery of the drugs," CISF spokesperson Hemendra Singh said.
The duo had come to Delhi a week back and were staying in Janakpuri area, he said.
