2 medical emergencies at airport


Two medical emergencies were reported at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA) on Wednesday. A senior citizen suffered a heart attack near the departure gate, while a 50-year-old passenger fell unconscious on board a flight.
Kamaladevi, 67, was booked on a Jet Airways flight to Jodhpur. She fell unconscious outside the departure gate while getting out of a taxi around 9 am.
"A CSIA medical team attended to the passenger. Her blood pressure and pulse was not recordable. The medical team began treatment with cardiopulmonary resuscitation," said a spokesperson for Mumbai International Airport Ltd (MIAL), which operates CSIA. The passenger was taken to a nearby hospital.
