Pune: The director general of civil aviation (DGCA) has approved additional flights on the Pune-Delhi and Pune-Indore routes in the summer schedule for domestic flights that came into effect on March 31. The new Pune-Delhi flight slot has been allotted to Air India while the Pune-Indore flight has been given to Jet Airways.
The airlines though are yet to announce their plans about starting the new flight services. The summer schedule remains effective till October 26 and has now been posted on the DGCA's official website.
According to the schedule, Air India's new flight AI-854 has been approved for take off from Pune at 9.40 pm and land in Delhi at 11.40 pm. Air India has been operating two flights from Pune to Delhi -- AI-852 at 7.40 am and AI 850 at 6.40 pm. The third flight to Delhi is aimed at tapping the late evening travelers.
