Kolkata: Four officials from Airports Authority of India's planning department inspected the new integrated terminal at Kolkata airport on Thursday. The move follows complaints about the terminal's built quality and service by both passengers and MPs Derek O'Brien, Saugata Roy and Gurudas Dasgupta since it was commissioned three weeks ago.
According to sources, the four-member team toured the entire length and breadth of the
terminal, looked at the glass panels that have been mysteriously cracking, the toilets that have been wet, the aerobridge doors that had initially failed to open and the food court area that was yet to be occupied. The team also spoke to airport officials about the missing medical unit that had inconvenienced a seriously ill passenger a few days ago.
