New Delhi: The Government of Arunachal Pradesh has initiated action for acquiring 320 hectares of land for the proposed greenfield airport project at Holongi on the outskirts of Itanagar, the state capital.
This was disclosed by Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh in a letter to Arunachal Pradesh Lok Sabha Member of Parliament Takam Sanjoy recently.
In his letter, Singh informed Sanjoy that he had been told by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) that it had forwarded a draft master plan for the proposed project to the Arunachal Pradesh Government.
He further informed that the state government had initiated action for acquiring the land for the project vide its gazette notification dated February 13, 2013.
