Kingfisher warehouse gutted


Bangalore: Aircraft equipment worth crores of rupees was gutted on Friday when a fire broke out in a Kingfisher airlines warehouse located at Chikkasanne Village near the Bengaluru International Airport.
According to fire and emergency services department officials, the fire, which broke out at around 11.30am was caused due to short circuit in an electric meter.
While aircraft equipment comprising accessories, spare parts, tyres, access ladders and a few documents and files were gutted, no casualties were reported and none of the employees of the warehouse were injured in the fire.
Villagers who noticed smoke emanating from the warehouse alerted the fire and emergency services department and three fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the fire. When the officials realised the fire had spread to the entire warehouse, they rushed more vehicles to the spot. The fire came under control only after 2.30 pm.
