NIIT Tech wins Rs 344 crore contract from Airports Authority of India


Bangalore: Delhi-based IT services company NIIT Technologies said it has won a technology contract from the Airports Authority of India worth Rs 344 crore.
The multi-year contract is for the integration of IT systems at the operations control centers at about 10 airports in India. The initiative is part of an airport modernisation initiative by India's civil aviation ministry headed by Ajit Singh.
NIIT said the project will be executed over the next 15 months at airports in Chennai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Pune, Tiruchirapalli, Thiruvananthapuram, Calicut, Mangalore, Guwahati and Jaipur, the company said in a statement on Thursday. At Chennai and Kolkata airports, NIIT will set up a data centre and a disaster recovery data centre. The project could be extended to 25 airports, according to NIIT.
