Refused boarding due to low BP, flyer, hubby protest at airport

Mumbai: A couple booked on a flight to Jodhpur on Sunday morning sat in protest at the airport boarding gate after the airline refused to allow one of them on board on medical grounds.
Narendra Lodha's wife Pushpa, who wasn't allowed to board the plane, is wheelchair bound and suffers from an incurable degenerative neurological disorder—multiple system atrophy.
The airline said Pushpa's blood pressure had dropped and the decision was taken after consulting her doctor.
The incident occurred around 10am. Narendra had brought Pushpa to Mumbai for treatment. As her condition had stabilized, she was given a go-ahead to fly by her doctor.
"They told us that she is not fit to fly at the last moment despite us having clearance from her doctor," said Narendra.
