Rome Airport expecting new service to India in 2013

Rome’s Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino Airport is in discussions with an Indian carrier to launch a new direct route to India later this year, Routes News understands.
A member of the airport’s route development team said talks were at an advanced stage but did not name the airline in question.
Currently only China Airlines offers direct services to India, with a twice-weekly service.
Among other recent announcements at Fiuminco include China Eastern increasing direct services between Shanghai–Rome to daily from next summer, Aeroflot increasing flights to Moscow from two to three daily flights and Turkish increasing services from Istanbul this summer from 21 to 25 per week.
