Mumbai: When Aslam Ali booked flight tickets on Monday from Mumbai to Jabalpur after sending his father’s body there in an ambulance, he thought he and his family members would reach well in time on Wednesday to receive it. Ali’s father died due to brain haemorrhage while he was on a visit to the city.
However, the grief-stricken family’s troubles worsened when Spicejet 2425 (Mumbai-Jabalpur-Delhi) flight got cancelled due to technical problems. Also, they were allegedly informed about the cancellation two hours after being made to board the aircraft. The flight was scheduled to take off at 4.15pm.
The airline staff told Ali and his co-passengers that they will have to wait till Wednesday morning to reach their destination due to lack of night-landing facility at Jabalpur airport.
Those headed to Delhi were accommodated in other flights.
