Pathanamth\itta: The Thiruvaranmula Paithrikagrama Samrakshana Samithi has welcomed the report of the Parliamentary Committee on Civil Aviation headed by Sitaram Yechury recommending the Central Government against the setting of Aranmula airport project.
Samithi convener P R Shaji in a statement on Friday said that the Central Government should cancel the approval given to the Aranmula airport project.
The samithi’s argument against a new airport within a radius of 150 sq km has been accepted by the Parliamentary Committee.
Earlier, the Assembly Environment Committee in its report recommended to the state government to cancel the permission given to the airport project.
