Cansaulim: A meeting attended by a sizeable crowd was held by 'Goans for Dabolim only' with local opinion makers from Cansaulim, Cuelim, Arossim and Velsao.
Social activist Marconi Correia opined that the existing Dabolim airport was in a position to meet the needs of Goa till 2025 and that there was enough land at Dabolim for all the civil aviation needs of Goa.
Speakers said that the 'Indian Navy's Goa scam' was a huge fraud on the Goan people.
The speakers opined that the Navy personnel posted at the Navy enclave at Dabolim have their presence in Goa as a holiday resort and not for strategic security reasons. They can be asked by the government of the day and the ministry of defence to shift to Seabird, Karwar.
