Delhi-bound Air India plane diverted to Nagpur

Nagpur:  A Visakhapatnam-New Delhi Air India Airbus A-321 made an emergency landing at city's Dr BabasahebAmbedkar International Airport on Monday morning when one of its engines developed a technical snag, sources in Nagpur airport said. All 180 passengers and crew members on board the plane are safe.
A relief aircraft arranged by the Air India to ferry the stranded passengers from here also developed a snag.
On Monday morning, captain of the Air India Flight 542 contacted Nagpur air controllers and sought permission for emergency landing after detecting the problem with the engine system, Sujan Singh, a passenger travelling in the plane told TOI. The plane landed at Nagpur airport at 10.42am.
