Govt. mum on Gupta jet landing

Pretoria: Government is yet to provide clarity on why it granted permission for a private jet chartered by the Gupta family to land at the Waterkloof Air Force Base in Pretoria on Tuesday.
Government departments that would have been involved in the decision declined to comment on the matter.
Nearly 200 passengers arrived at the national key-point ahead of a wedding set to take place at Sun City in the North West this week.
The Gupta family is known to have close ties with President Jacob Zuma and his family.
The Airbus A330-200, chartered by Jet Airways, departed from New Delhi at midnight on Monday.
It arrived at the air force base at 7.10am on Tuesday with 189 passengers on board.
It is understood the Indian High Commission asked the government permission to land at the base because six of the passengers were ministers.
