Johannesburg: Over 200 overseas guests who attended the Gupta wedding were delayed at the OR Tambo International Airport for almost six hours, before they could depart, according to a report on Saturday.
Friday's delay was as a result of thorough security checks, the Saturday Star reported.
Home Affairs spokesperson Ronnie Mamoepa was quoted as saying his department was responsible for the delay.
"In line with [government's] commitment to ensure compliance with immigration laws, upon departure... for India... we have processed 207 passengers and 12 crew members through our immigration section," Mamoepa said.
