Juhu airport revamp not possible, likely to shut: Report

Mumbai: A latest report by an aviation consultancy firm claims that the development plan of Juhu airport is unattainable and unrealistic and eventually the government would close the airport to monetise its real estate.
Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation (CAPA), in its recently released report titled Seismic changes ahead in domestic and international markets, but a policy vacuum exists blames the government for not being clear in its policies to take the aviation industry ahead.
Describing the airport capacity constraints in Mumbai to be one of the greatest concerns, the report states that continued delays in land acquisition for the Navi Mumbai airport project has pushed the first phase completion to 2018-19. The capacity at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport is expected to be saturated by then.
