Bangalore: A city-based software engineer alleged that a gold coin and a diamond ring were stolen from his check-in baggage on a private airlines flight that he took from Indore to Bangalore via Mumbai on Sunday.
The theft came to light when the aircraft landed in Bangalore around 12.30pm.
Brijesh Arya, 31, resident of HSR Layout, said when he went to the police outpost on the premises of Bengaluru International Airport (BIA) to file a complaint, policemen there refused to accept his plaint, giving him only an acknowledgement.
"They asked me to file a complaint in Indore as I boarded the flight from there and gave me an acknowledgement instead. After I contacted media, the BIA police came forward to accept my FIR on Monday," Arya told TOI. Arya has been informed by the police that the case will be transferred to Indore police.
