Nagpur: Abhijeet Group, once a high flying business company that became the first corporate from the region to own a business jet, is now low key on its aviation plans. After buying an over Rs 100 crore Bombardier aircraft over a year ago, the company has now dropped its plans to have a private hangar at the Nagpur airport.
Soon after it had brought the aircraft, the company had applied to lease more than one acre of land to build a hangar of its own to park the aircraft and carry out maintenance. Mihan India Limited (MIL), the joint venture company with Airports Authority of India (AAI) running the airport, had issued a letter of intent (LoI), showing it readiness. If the deal went through, the company would have had to shell out around Rs 5 lakh as monthly rent. The final agreement had not been signed though.
