Air India, Rlys announce free ferrying of relief items to Uttarakhand

Kolkata: Air India and the Indian Railways have announced ferrying relief materials from public to the flood-hit Uttarakhand without any charge from all across the country.
The relief materials that can be sent include packaged food, medicines, clothes, utensils and building materials, etc. While the railways will extend the free-of-cost shipment facility for 15 days till 9 July, Air India has not fixed any cut off date.
“Individuals or organisations intending to send the relief by air may approach Air India booking counters at all airports in the country. At the national level, people will be required to contact our booking office at Safdarjung in New Delhi for this,” an Air India official said today.
