Air India staff give fliers white lies for delay

Mumbai: The passengers on board an Air India flight (Mumbai-Hyderabad-Jeddah) were an angry lot after their plane failed to take off hours after its scheduled departure, without good reason.
Moreover, the 250 passengers on the flight said that the airline staff were uncooperative and gave vague excuses, including bad weather conditions, to be the reason behind the delay.
An Air India spokesperson, without stating the reason behind the delay, added that alternate arrangements were being made to help passengers reach their destination soon.
According to one of the passengers, DK Sanjeev, the flight AI 965 was scheduled to take off at 5.40pm. “However, till now, no one has been able to give us a clear answer as to why it did not take off,” he said.
The passengers added that they were asked to remain seated inside the aircraft for over two hours and were later deplaned. “The airline crew gave us all kinds of excuses. First, they said they hadn’t received clearance from the ATC yet.
