Kochi: A petition has been filed before the Kerala High Court seeking a directive to the state government to conduct a public hearing of all the residents of the 13 grama panchayats in Pathanamathitta district, before granting exemption to the land for the proposed Aranmula airport.
The petition was filed by Aranmula Heritage Village Action Council patron Kummanam Rajasekharan. He submitted that the move to give exemption to the land would be a big blow to the Kerala Land Reforms Act.
