Ludhiana: With Prime Minister Manmohan Singh directing Airports Authority of India (AAI) to award 50 low-cost airports in 11 states, including in Punjab's Ludhiana, residents' dream of better air connectivity with other parts of country and world have got a boost.
Giving details, Manish Tiwari, Union information and broadcasting minister, who is also a MP from Ludhiana, says, "We have been working with the Union Ministry of Civil Aviation for quite some time on the project. Under the project, the Sahnewal airport will be upgraded. The Ministry of Civil Aviation is already working on it."
