If he is a member of any frequent flier club, he would surely be eligible for a number of free tickets by now. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Kiran Reddy has flown a staggering 77 times between Hyderabad and Delhi ever since he assumed office two-and-a-half-years ago.
The chief minister’s latest trip to the national capital was over Thursday and Friday. The two-day sojourn was to meet the members of the Planning Commission as well as to hold confabulations with the party top brass over the changes to be made in the state Cabinet following the resignations of P Sabitha Indra Reddy and Dharmana Prasada Rao.
The chief minister’s record number of Delhi visits is ample fodder for the beleaguered Opposition to take potshots at him. From TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu to BJP president G Kishan Reddy, all are busy accusing Kiran Reddy of neglecting the state’s administration and concentrating more on saving his position.
“The chief minister can be aptly called Delhi Kumar Reddy. Instead of flying to Delhi frequently, he could be asked to stay in Delhi and a new chief minister be appointed to take care of the administration in the state,” Kishan Reddy said.
