Margao: Joining the bandwagon against Mopa airport, Quepem MLA Chandrakant 'Babu' Kavlekar voiced his opposition to Mopa and said he would support the people of South Goa in their fight to protect Dabolim airport.
Kavlekar, who is a Congress MLA, said that this was his personal opinion and not the view of the party. Congress has so far supported the idea for two airports in the state. Kavlekar pointed out that people who stay in and around Quepem would have to travel great distances to reach Mopa and questioned the need for two airports in the state and said that it was not feasible.
