Passengers spend 4 hours in plane

New Delhi: Passengers of a SpiceJet flight from Delhi to Udaipur spent four hours sitting inside the aircraft after their pilot allegedly refused to fly it owing to a snag. The airline arranged for another aircraft but by that time, the flight duty time limitation (FDTL) of the cabin crew had expired and a second crew was arranged.
The flight, SG-2437, had to depart from Delhi at 10.40am but passengers boarded the aircraft at 10.50am. On their way to the aircraft, passengers saw the pilot having an argument with the airline engineer.
"The aircraft had some snag and we heard the pilot refusing to fly. Still, we were made to board the flight. Around 12.20pm, we were told an alternative aircraft would be arranged but that too had some technical problem. We were told it would be ready within 15 minutes but we switched aircraft only around 1.45pm," said passenger Hari Shankar Vyas.
