'Rogue cabbies with no badges fleecing airport passengers'

Mumbai: A cartel of rogue cabbies continues to operate at the domestic airport and fleece passengers, taxi unions have alleged.
"Despite the presence of policemen and airport security personnel, drivers who don't have badges are operating in the airport area. It seems they have the blessings of a few airport security personnel," taxi union leader A L Quadros alleged. "These drivers often jump queues to solicit passengers, but refuse short-distance fares."
Mumbai International Airport Pvt Ltd (MIAL) officials denied this and said there was no major problem. "Security personnel have been directed to allot taxis to passengers on a first come, first served basis," said an official.
