AI former MD joins Oman Air Board

What can only be seen as good news for Oman’s national airline is the induction of two very experienced aviation industry professionals into the Oman Air family.
V Thulasidas, a retired officer of the IAS (Indian Administrative Service), has joined in the capacity of advisor and board member at Oman Air. Also, Samer Majali, who resigned as Gulf Air CEO in December 2012, has been appointed in a ‘top position’, say Oman Air sources.
Prior to this, Thulasidas was managing director of Kannur International Airport Limited in northern Kerala, a project that is currently under construction. He was also the first chairman and managing director of the new unified entity Air India, created by the merger of Air India and Indian, the domestic national airline.
Majali has been largely credited for the success of Royal Jordanian Airlines which he headed from 2001-2009.
