Air India to operate one more direct flight to Yangon

Kolkata: Air India will operate an additional direct flight between Kolkata and Yangon from Wednesday.
Currently, it operates two flights a week — on Mondays and Fridays.
According to an Air India spokesperson, the additional flight will be in service till September considering the growth in demand. The Kolkata-Yangon direct flight will now be available thrice a week.
Air India may also continue the service beyond September if there are more flyers , the spokesperson added.
Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) recently urged Union Minister of Civil Aviation Ajit Singh to introduce an additional flight on Wednesdays on this route in view of the increasing prospects for bilateral trade between India and Myanmar.
