New Delhi: The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel, posted at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, will for the first time get sophisticated weapons including MP5 and Glock pistols in a bid to boost security measures. Airport sources said an order for the same had been placed last month.
The CISF is a specialised anti-hijack and anti-sabotage unit, with its personnel at the airport trained in using sophisticated weapons.
"We have placed an order for sophisticated weapons in the light of recent terror attacks. The weapons of the CISF personnel at the IGI airport will now be replaced with MP5 and Glock pistols," a senior airport official said.
