Mangalore : Acting on a tip off, The DRI (Directorate of Revenue Intelligence) officers have apprehended a person who was trying to smuggle five gold biscuits weighing 580 grams, through Dubai - Mangalore Air India flight, at Mangalore international airport, on Tuesday.
Mohammed Aslam (39), a resident of Nayanmar in Kasargod district was caught red-handed when DRI sleuths checked his luggage and found five gold biscuits concealed inside a LED TV set.. Aslam?s luggage had successfully passed through the scanner but the DRI sleuths thoroughly searched Aslam?s baggage and later sought the help of an mechanic to open the TV only to find gold biscuits concealed inside the TV.
