International flight yet to take off

Bhubaneswar: People of Odisha may have to wait for some more time to take a direct flight abroad. The civil aviation ministry is yet to notify Biju Patnaik Airport an international one, although the airport authorities here expected to get the tag by June-end.
"Most of the spadework of the international terminal building has completed. We have also got the required staff for running immigration and custom operations. We are only waiting for the civil aviation ministry's nod," said airport director Sharad Kumar. He said although bird menace continues to be an impediment, it won't affect international operation as most of the international flights operate at night and bird presence is confined mostly to daytime.
