New Delhi: With the FIPB nod, Jet Airways has moved a step closer to implementing its plans of not only launching daily services from eight Indian cities to Abu Dhabi, but also to start a daily service linking Bangalore to Chicago through Abu Dhabi.
The airline will still have to wait for formal clearance from the Competition Commission of India, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs and the Ministry of Civil Aviation before it can launch these new flights. The Commercial Cooperation Agreement that Jet Airways and Etihad signed in April, which was amended in May, states that Jet Airways will start daily services from Bangalore, Chennai, Kochi, Hyderabad, Thiruvanthapuram, Mumbai, Delhi and Ahmedabad no later than winter of 2013.
