Mumbai airport turns fortress after terror threat

Mumbai: Security at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA) has been beefed up.
The move was triggered by an intelligence input from central agencies about a possible terror attacks at seven major Indian airports in India, including Mumbai.Though the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and the local police remained tight-lipped about the latest intelligence input, sources say that security agencies suspect the next terror attack could take place with a relatively unknown explosive.
The terror outfits could also hijack an aircraft and later launch an attack, the sources added.
The airports at Delhi, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai and Guwahati are the other places where intelligence input has been shared by the Intelligence agencies.CSIA, which is among the busiest airports in Asia, sees movements of over 31 million passengers every year apart from cargo movement.
