SpiceJet plans to appoint new CEO in two weeks

New Delhi: Low-cost airline SpiceJet will fill by the first week of August the posts of chief executive officer and chief commercial officer (CCO), left vacant by the sudden resignations of Neil Mills and Harish Moideen Kutty, according to two persons familiar with the matter.
"SpiceJet has already shortlisted two names to fill the post of CCO," said the first person, a senior executive of the airline, asking not to be named. News of Mills' departure surfaced on Tuesday, pushing the shares down 3.47% at 26.45 on Wednesday. Mills actually resigned about two months ago and is serving his notice period, said the executive.
Kutty, who has since joined Gulf carrier RAK Airways, quit in June. "He (Mills) will depart in 10 days to take up another job in an airline in the Indian subcontinent," said the executive. Mills is still coming to office, signing papers and overseeing operations, added the second person.
