AAI team makes survey of land for proposed airport

Balasore: If things go as per the plan, the tribal dominated Mayurbhanj district will soon have a mini airport. A team of Airports Authority of India (AAI) officials recently visited some places in the district to identify suitable place for the proposed airport.
In an effort to boost intra-state and inter-state civil aviation facilities, the Government had earlier decided to develop at least five new airports in the State.
The four-member AAI team surveyed about 193 acres of land in Rajabasa, nearly 7 km from Baripada town. The team members included joint general manager (plan) PK Mohapatra, Nitin Atal and assistant managers Anurag Mishra and Ramesh Chandra.
