Advanced radar for Kochi airport

Kochi: The Rs 12-crore advanced radar system procured by the Airport Authority of India will be installed at the Cochin International Airport in October.
The dry run of the facility, which will reduce the landing time to three minutes from the present 6 to 9 minutes, has begun.
The Czech-built radar is a combination of approach surveillance radar and mono-pulse secondary surveillance radar. It is expected to greatly increase the airport safety and help improve the utilisation of the runway.
