Airlines companies owe over Rs 2,111 cr to AAI

New Delhi:  Airlines companies owe over Rs 2,111 crores to Airports Authority of India, with national carrier Air India alone accounting for over two-third of the dues.
As on March 31, Air India and its subsidiaries owe Rs 1539.75 crore to the state-owned airport operator, while various foreign airlines collectively owe Rs 193.49 crore, Minister of State for Civil Aviation, K C Venugopal said in Lok Sabha today.
Vijay Mallya owned, now defunct, Kingfisher Airlines owes Rs 186.26 crore.
Jet Airlines has due of Rs 100.16 crore, SpiceJet of Rs 80.17 crore, Go Airlines of Rs 8.71 crore and IndiGo Rs 2.89 crore.
He said the aviation companies fail to pay the dues due to one reason or the other, but AAI takes adequate efforts to recover the dues by regular monitoring.
