Techie, 3 friends held for assault at airport

Hyderabad: Police registered criminal cases against a 25-year-old woman techie and three of her friends for assaulting the staff at the mud racing arena on RGI Airport premises on Sunday.
The RGIA police registered a case against Deepti, daughter of Simhadri from Kukatpally, and her friends Veera Prasad, Prithviraj and Radha Krishna from Visakhapantam. Deepti told police officials she was a software engineer working at a private firm in Hi-Tec City and her friends were businessmen.
The alleged assault occurred when the group of four went to the airport around 4 am to have fun at the mud-racing sport arena located near the parking lot. As one of the men went to race, the others stayed back at the waiting area. When Veera Prasad sat on a broken seat nearby, Shiva Kumar, a racing arena employee, asked him to shift to some other seat. Deepti then picked up an argument with Shiva and abused him. saying his monthly salary was lesser than her daily pocket money.
