Three held with 12 kg gold at city Airport

Chennai: The customs officials seized nearly 12 kg of gold biscuits from three Keralites who arrived in two different flights at the Airport here on Friday.
The first catch on Thursday was made when the customs sleuths frisked one Abi Rahman, of Kannanur in Kerala, who had arrived at 12.10 am from Singapore. He was carrying 60 biscuits, each weighing 100 grams, concealed in his dress and suitcase. The total worth of the gold seized was estimated to be about Rs 1.8 crore.
