Visa on arrival to boost tourism of Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram: The state will market tourism in Japan and Finland, two of the 11 countries included in the tourist visa on arrival (VoA) facility between September and January, tourism minister A P Anil Kumar said.
The minister was addressing a press conference after visiting the VoA counters at the Trivandrum International Airport. Chief minister Oommen Chandy, too, visited the counters on Wednesday.
The chief minister said the Airports Authority of India had requested the state government for land to complete the phase two of the airport project. "Compensation for the families is yet to be decided, but land around 20 acres will be handed over to the AAI shortly," he said, adding that the remaining 60 acres would be acquired in a phased manner.
The chief minister, who had cancelled a meeting scheduled for August 2 regarding the development of Trivandrum Aeropolis and multi-modal hub said the meeting would be held in the first week of September.
