Bird hits AI flight, 'no serious damage'

Lucknow: An Air India flight (AI-411) with 140 passengers aboard was reportedly hit by a bird barely few minutes after it took off from New Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport for Lucknow Sunday morning. However, according to reports, there was no serious damage to the aircraft and it landed safely at the airport in Lucknow. "The pilot took the flight to Lucknow and landed safely at the airport here at the scheduled time," said S C Hota, Director, Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport, Lucknow. The bird had reportedly hit the aircraft in the cockpit region. The flight was to return to Delhi with passengers at 9.15 am.But, according to reports, Air India authorities canceled the flight to examine the damage and sent Delhi-bound passengers in another flight of Jet Airways at 12.45 pm.
