Panaji: Chief minister Manohar Parrikar has drawn sharp criticism from the members of Goans For Dabolim Only (GFDO), this time, for not explaining the need to acquire 80lakh sq m of land for the construction of the proposed airport at Mopa.
GFDO convener Fr Eremito Rebello alleged that there is a possibility of a land scam and said that the chief minister should make his intentions clear to the people of Goa.
"The area in the original plan for the airport at Mopa was 27lakh sq m. We want to know why such a quantum of land had to be acquired, when airports at Bengaluru and Hyderabad are of 35lakh sq m and 45lakh sq m respectively," he said.
