Cops demand explanations from Cooper, MIAL, airline

Three weeks after a 27-year-old man died due to a fall from an escalator at the Mumbai International Airport, the Sahar police have asked the Cooper Hospital authorities to explain why the treatment began more than six hours after the victim was brought in.
Explanations have also been sought from the Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL), and the airline (GoAir).
The victim, Siddhesh Borkar, had arrived in Mumbai from Abu Dhabi on July 29, and was headed to Goa, where his parents reside, on an annual vacation.
On his way to board a GoAir flight, he didn't realise the escalator was stationary, and tumbled down (Man falls off escalator at airport terminal, lies unattended for 45 mins, Mumbai Mirror, July 31). He succumbed to injuries on August 14.
