Dasara special aerial joyrides till October-end

Mysore: Visitors who missed the aerial joyride last Dasara have another chance this year. The three Cessna flights at Mandakalli airport have been extended for a month.
Last year, these flights, introduced for the first time, were a hit among tourists and visitors. The demand was so much that many people returned without getting chance to fly. Deputy commissioner and Dasara Special Officer C Shikha told STOI that given the demand, the numbers of flights and duration have been extended.
She said a couple of Cessna 152 and one Cessna 172 will take visitors up into the air. It's been organnised by the district administration in association with the Government Flying Training School in Jakkur, Bangalore.
The Cessna 152 is an American two-seater, general aviation airplane and the joyride package was called Maharaja. The Cessna 172 package, called Yuvaraja, is a four-seater aircraft. Last year, the Maharaja and Yuvaraja packages were priced at Rs 2,500 and Rs 2,000 for 15 minutes. "We're yet to finalise the prices this year," the DC added.
