Looming LS polls throw Mopa out of gear

Panaji: The looming Lok Sabha polls has landed the Mopa airport mission squarely on the backburner with observers pointing out that the 18-month-old BJP government has clipped the project's wings in an effort to woo the South Goa vote.
On the ground, STOI has found that though chief minister Manohar Parrikar, just ten days ago, attributed the project's slowdown to the government having to conduct the environment impact assessment (EIA) study, what he failed to say is that the government has yet to issue the request for qualification (RFQ) document.
