Chennai: A 45-year-old native of Cuddalore who has been on the run from the police for almost a year now, was arrested at the airport by immigration officials, as he attempted to leave the country. The Cuddalore Superintendent of Police had issued a Look Out Circular for Ratchakan, who originally hailed from Aranthangi, for having attempted to murder his wife and brutally assaulted her, last year.
Immigration officers flagged Ratchakan as he attempted to use his own passport to fly on Oman Airways flight WY 252, which departed at 7.20 am on Thursday morning. As soon as they ascertained that this was the man the police had been searching for, he was detained and handed over to the Cuddalore police, later in the day.
