Nagpur: Mumbai-based realtor Raheja Group has evinced interest in taking up land in Mihan-SEZ. A team from this company recently visited the site with plans to acquire 20-25 acres of land here. This company plans to come up with a complex for housing IT and IT-enabled services (ITES) units in Mihan.
However, even before the Raheja Group takes a final decision, Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC) - the SEZ's developer which has so for liberally allotted land to investors - is a little cautious. This is especially due to discouraging experience with other realtors allotted land for building IT parks like the one planned by the Raheja Group in this SEZ.
Despite land being allotted to many realtors there is no tangible progress in any of the projects. Realty bigwig DLF has virtually abandoned the project since over two years. MADC is unhappy with the performance other companies as well, such as M/s Kolland Developers. MADC has allotted around 400 acre to five realtors for developing IT parks in Mihan-SEZ.
